Isabel Fernandes Atelier: Where art meets sustainability
Isabel Fernandes Atelier is more than just an art studio. It’s a manifesto, an invitation to reflect on our role in the world. Through her vibrant and meaningful works, the artist invites us to celebrate imperfection through painting, to embrace sustainability and to connect with our own humanity.
With a background in the textile industry, she quickly realised that waste and fast fashion culture were not part of her essence. By founding her own studio, the artist found a way to express her creativity and, at the same time, contribute to a more sustainable future.
With every brushstroke, Isabel Fernandes reveals her soul, inviting the public to embark on a journey full of emotions. Her works, often created from discarded fabrics, convey a deep connection with nature and life. Through art, she shows us that beauty can be found in the most unexpected places, and that sustainability doesn’t have to mean giving up.
The artist celebrates imperfection as a fundamental characteristic of the human experience. In her works, the marks of time, imperfections in texture and free brushstrokes reveal the artist’s hand, making each piece unique and authentic.
By choosing sustainable materials and giving new life to discarded objects, Isabel Fernandes inspires us to rethink our consumption and to value what is truly important. Her art is a call for us to build a fairer, more humane and more sustainable future.
Isabel Fernandes Atelier’s commitment is to create unique pieces, personalised clothing and accessories that express our clients’ individuality and creativity. We value sustainability and the conscious use of resources by reinventing and giving life to end-of-cycle fabrics through hand-painting. In our view, reusing and revitalising is always better than discarding. We want to spread art and love through fashion, promoting social and ethical responsibility at every stage of our process.
The fashion industry critically increases the amount of garments produced and discarded and only 1 per cent of used clothes are recycled into new garments, generating a major environmental impact, according to a report by the European Union (Link: https://www.europarl.europa.eu/topics/pt/article/20201208STO93327/o-impacto-da-producao-e-dos-residuos-texteis-no-ambiente ).
In this context, the brand, Isabel Fernandes Atelier, is committed not only to creating unique and personalised pieces, but also to valuing sustainability in its productions, with the aim of promoting environmental awareness.
In 2022, her work gained international prominence, and she was invited to exhibit in a private gallery in France, followed by other firsts in Portugal, namely at fashion events, where she was invited to be one of the artists at the Moda na Cidade event in Figueira da Foz and at the Moda Braga event, at the invitation of the Braga Business Association.
